Can the above mentioned sentence can be rewritten as:

Although passengers said the landing in Delhi came as a huge relief; however, the drama did not end there.

In 1 you can change 'while' to 'although'.

You can start 2 with 'The passengers. . . '

Do not use 'although' and 'however' in the same sentence.
