Can you tell me which of the following sentences is the correct one?
He was singing in front of the public.
He was singing before the public.

Re: Before / In front of "He was singing in public" would solve your dilemma.
I would say "He was singing in front of an audience".Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.
