how would native speakers of English describe this phenomenon?
Dear English speakers:
Is there a short and efficient way (a word or phrase?) to describe the phenomenon below?
You use too many electronic appliances simultaneously(for example you have ten thermostates on at one time). Then all of a sudden, the power of the entire room gets cut off because the circuit can't take it any more.
If you were to call the maintainance guy, what would you say in a word or short phrase to describe what just happened?
Thanks!!!

You either "blew a fuse" or "tripped a breaker," depending on the electrical service.
