Default Distance between modal and verb

    Hello,
I would like to know if it is correct to separate a modal and its verb as in the following sentence:
"In such a case, he shall, after reviewing all other relevant topics, inform the student of his/her mistakes".

You see that the verb "inform" has been separated from the modal "shall" by a clause. Is this right? Is it good style?

    Thanks for your prompt reply,

PD. I am not a teacher, but just an advanced student of English.

It's rather formal, but it's not incorrect.
