use of lays/lies
Hello
I am confused about the use of words lays/lies. What is the rule of using them in a sentence?
In the Northern Hemisphere the main souce of icebergs (lays, lies) along the Southwestern coast of Greenland.
Most of the icebergs (lays, lies) under the water.
Whether lies is the correct choice in both sentences or we'll use lays in the second sentence?
Thanks
