The fire suddenly flushed in the thickets
Can I say "The fire suddenly flushed in the thickets"? Or it would be better to use some other verb like "flare", "flush", "break out" or something else?

Re: The fire suddenly flushed in the thickets
'Flushed' doesn't work. 'Flared' and 'broke out' do.
