It depends on whether the person wants to emphasize that the other person received an education (got) or has an education (have) -- process or state. In practice, they mean the same thing, though.

Gramatically correct? Im not sure if this is correct:
"Maybe if you spoke like you actually got an education he wouldn't get so annoyed with you"
is it got? or have/had? any insight on this, (and WHY its wrong if it is) would help! thanks!

Re: Gramatically correct? I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
