It is a good synonym for "cocky"

Hi,

I have taken my English exam today. I think I managed quite well:-)

It started with some vocabulary excersices, in the second sentence we had to fill in a word. It had something to do with people's charactes and attitude. I couldn't come up with the word out of course book but I was able to come up with a synonym.

Is high-foreheaded the same is cocky ?

If some of you know other good alternatives please don't hesitate to share them with me :-)

High-foreheaded- I don't know this one, but someone who is cocky is brimming with confidence and ready to challenge people and authorities. You could say they were 'full of themselves', 'brash' or a 'wise guy'. ;-)

Hi tdol,

I have found out what the meaning of "high-foreheaded" is. It means "being bald" :-) Unfortunately, that means minus 1 for me:-? But on the other hand, I will never forget it either:-) :up:

Hi Johan,
But does it mean "being completely bald"? In Polish you say that you have a high forehead if your hair starts quite high over your forehead (:cry: ), but it doesn't mean that you're completely bald (:-) ).

Hi Nyggus,

Well, you made a good point there !!! I share the same thought as you do, according to me I don't think it is being completely bald as well. When people start losing hair, you often see that at their forehead. So, you aren't as bald as a coot yet ;-) It's just the road to ruin hahaha. Luckily some girls fall for it8-) :-D

You have said that you use the similar expression in Polish, well here in Belgium we use to say something similar as well ... just ours is a little bit different.
