six-fold ???

I thought I had posted this question. But it is not on the list, Hmmm.

Ok Anyway here it goes,

" The foreign investment in China this year is six-fold of the previous year "

If the previous year's investment worth 1 million. The six-fold of it is 6 millions or 7 millions ? I personally think it is supposed to be 1 x 6 = 6 millions, but some English teacher told their students it includes another mllion :P:P:P , so it is 7 millions ???

Meaning, People invested 1 million last year and six times that amount this year, giving 7 million in total for both years . This year's investment was 6 million (6-fold of last year's investment).

I am right then :) When talking about this year's investment. That would be only 6 millions
