My husband and I are having a disagreement that we need settled. We own a business together and the last letter of our name is "r". Since their are two owner's, where does the apostrophe go? Before or after the "s" ? Example: Smith's Grocery Store. Please explain the usage of the apostrophe when refering to ownership and multiples. Thanks!
I'd say "The Potters' Bakery"
If Mr and Mrs Lyon owned a club, I'd write "The Lyons' Club".
For the Joneses, I'd paint "The Joneses' Joint"...
Correct me if I'm wrong![]()
Two Smiths, then a possessive, so it'd be Smiths'.![]()
Thank you all for replying so quickly. I hate admitting I'm WRONG, especially to my spouse, but this time I was proven wrong![]()
Again, thank you for settling the disagreement![]()
Try making him 'remember' that he was the one who'd put the apostrophe before the s.![]()
