As, when, while, can be used to mean although, but, and seeing that.

As can mean though or although
Tired as he was he offered to carry her bags
Though he was tired he offered to carry her bags.
Strong as he was, he couldn’t lift her heavy bags.

While can mean but and is used to emphasize a contrast.
Some people waste food while others are starving.
He said he was feeling fine while in reality he was feeling ill.

While can also mean although and is then usually placed at the beginning of a sentence.
While I sympathize with your point of view I cann accept it.

When can mean seeing that /although. It is very similar to while, but is chiefly used to introduce a statement which makes another action seem unreasonable. It is often used with a question (but not necessarily).
How can you expect children to be truthful when you yourself tell lies?
