Can I say this with all these verbs?

When I want to say that I'm not doing anything important, can I use all these verbs to mean that?

to fool around, to hang around, to goof around, to stand around, to chill (out)...

Can they be used to mean this concept or....?

To stand around

These are two I've never heard someone say or have used myself.

To fool around: I've seen it used by observers but never the actor. "Stop fooling around." It implies mischief, and not really the sort of laid back feeling you are going for.

To hang around: I have used "You want to hang out?" and "I am just hanging out." I have not used "hang around".

To chill: "You want to chill?" I have used that and have been asked it as well. Never asked or requested "You want to chill out?" That implies that someone is throwing a temper tantrum and needs to calm down.

So, the best one is 'hang around' but more like 'hang out'. 'To chill' could also be used, but without the 'out.' The others, I wouldn't used.

"To fool around" is the same as "messing around" - you're not doing anything important, in fact, you are probably doing something very silly and pointless. (It also means "to be unfaithful to your partner".)
"To hang around" just means to loiter in an area without doing anything at all, important or otherwise.
"To goof around" is very similar to "to fool around"
"To stand around" is similar to "to hang around".
"To chill out" just means to relax. You could be anywhere - at home, on a beach, at a friend's house.
