    Default I or Me

    Dear Teachers

When someone asks "Who wants this?" Is the reply "Me" correct? Everybody says that in my class but I think it should be "I". Like in "I want this." Am I correct?

Purists will argue that 'I' is correct, but it sounds unnatural to most native speakers. We say 'me' or 'I do'.
Context is important. Please provide enough for us to be able to deal effectively with your question.
Your thread title should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.

    Which variant is better?

"My friend and I like to play football".
"My friend and me like play football".

    ***** NOT A TEACHER *****

The first sentence is grammatical and is considered better by many people. We have covered this issue in previous threads.
