I have a problem with this frase "You can't take a biscuit OFF a baby".![]()
I do know the idiom "to take the biscuit" but what is meant by "OFF a baby" in this sentens![]()
(sorry, can't find the right spelling of sentens/sentence![]()

To take something off someone means to remove; disarm (e.g., take the gun off the criminal; take the cookie off the baby.

Well, it is the whole context that puzzels me. It is from a Scottish short story called "Sugar Baby". I have that idea that is when somebody can't take somthing away, that already is a part of somthing existing?![]()
Btw. my dictonary says "sentence" = Verdict (n.) Pass judgment (v.)
...but it is only MS Word offcause.![]()
