Regular books ( text ) or Audiobooks ( audio ) ?

Hello ,
I am an ESL student .
I was wondering what is better for improving your English abilities reading books or listening to an audio recording
of them . After all most of our daily communication with one another is auditory , speech and listening , and not written . So what in your opinion is better for achieving fluency in the English language ?

After all, most of our daily communication with one another is auditory (speech and listening), and not written. So what in your opinion is better for achieving fluency in the English language?

Use both. Your comprehension and vocabulary will be improved by reading, as you have the opportunity to stop, check a dictionary for definitions, and to recognise combinations of words etc. When you listen, your auditory comprehension is improved, you will hear correct pronunciation and you will get an idea of the rhythm and cadence of the language.
