object and objective
I thought when we're talking about the aim / result we want to achieve, we can use the word 'objective' as in 'the objective of this plan is...'
However, I came across the word 'object' the other day and it too can mean the same?
Are they then synonymes?
Object: a reason for doing something, or the result you wish to achieve by doing it
(Cambridge dictionaries online)
Thanks
