Default There being vs there is/are

    1. I can't imagine there being a better place to coach basketball than Lawrence, Kansas.
    2. There being few babies born that September, Alyce and the midwife spent their days making soap.
    3. There being no objection, it is so decided.
Can I replace "there being" in the sentences above with "there is/are"?
If possible, what is the difference between them?

You can in #1, but not in the others (change baballsket to basketball).

    2. There were few babies born that September, so Alyce and the midwife spent their days making soap.

    3. As there is no objection, it is so decided.

As there + to be = There being: is this right?
