    Default tenses

    He wanted to go but I asked him to stay for some more time. Is this a correct sentence?

    It's not incorrect but it could be made more natural with "He wanted to go but I asked him to stay a bit longer/a little longer".
    Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.
