| I want to know from where does the English language came? Is it from America or Britin?? It's from the church or the King? I would like to know thank you |

| Well, the whole thing with the origin of English is a bit complicated but I guess it's gonna be enough to say (at least for the time being) that English is one of the Germianic languages and it was because of the Germanic tribes which invaded the British Isles that the language developed. Then, there are other infulences, like Celtic and Vikings and other folks from the north who took over Britain... Best wishes, (by the way - did I make any mistakes :) ?) |

| It's a mixture, as forum_mail says. The Angles and Saxons invaded and settled, then the Vikings came. These languages mixed. Then the French invaded bringing both French and Latin, adding a lot more to the language. It has also taken from many other languages, but these are the main ones. |

| There's a fine book about the origins and history of English... hmm, written by Pyles as far as I can remember. One more thing... answering one of your questions - English came from England, not from the USA. It got to the USA with first Pilgrim Fathers, Puritans and other colonizers or conquerors of The New Land. Best wishes, |
