Default Past tense or present?

i am confused when i use past tense in a question[/B]
which 1 correct and why?
i thought you go to washroom.
or
i thought you went to washroom.
another problem is:

Default Re: Past tense or present?

In both cases both the thinking and the action are in the past, so the past makes more sense.
