Are the following sentences have the same meaning?
///do you mind if i borrow your digital camera
///would you mind if i borrowed your digital camera
Because the first sentence has the verb borrow while the second sentence has the verb borrowed.
The have the same meaning, but the second is more formal- we use 'would' to try to show a greater degree of formality. The reason for the differene in tenses is to be found at the start of the question- do you mind + present, would you mind + past
