The accident happened when/while I was going to work.
Are both conjunctions possible in this sentence? Is there any difference in meaning?

Put when/while in the Google Custom Search box at the top of the page to find links to many previous discussions of this topic.
Note that a better title would have been when/while or when v while, as 'v' means 'versus' and 'x' has no meaning in this context.
