Below is a direct translation from Chinese(very commonly used in Chinese).I just wonder if a more authentic way of saying that in English exists.

"The sky has turned bright". We should get up and.....
"The sky has turned dark/black". We'd better go home....

Would you possibly just say "It's bright now" or "It's dark now"?

If you're talking about the times around sunrise and sunset, then I would say "It's light/getting light. We should get up and ..." or "It's dark/getting dark now. We'd better go home ..."

If a previously dark and cloudy day has turned into a nice sunny one, then I would say "The sun's come out" or "It's lovely and bright out there now. Let's go and do something".
