Double Quotes Instead of Single Quotes Around Words That Are Contractions?
Wrong: 'They don't want to participate.'
Right: "They don't want to participate."
Double quote marks are preferred in this example because internally the sentence contains the word "don't", which already has an apostrophe (single quote) in it.
Am I correct?
