right somebody Can the verb "right" be used with "somebody" in the following sentence to mean "correct somebody".
I have to right you here because what you just said is not entirely true.
It doesn't sound very natural to me.I'm not a teacher, or a native English speaker. Feel free to edit my posts if you encounter any mistakes in them (be it grammatical or vocabular). It'll help me to improve my command of English.

Re: right somebody Would it be understood that the speaker meant "correct you" when they said "right you" even though it would sound unnatural?

I could probably figure out from context what someone meant, but it's wrong. Not just unnatural.
