I'm afraid that you will have to be more specific, because there are many occasions when you could use one or the other of these two words.
Let's take just a couple.
Someone asks you, "How are you?". In BrE, you would probably reply, "I'm well". In AmE, you would probably say "I'm good".
You are encouraging someone. In BrE you say "You're doing well"; in AmE, "You're doing good".
