Default catch a ...

I would like to know the means of transportations which I can use with "catch".
Is it correct "catch a plane, a taxi, a car, a bus, etc."?
Is there a grammar rule to follow?
Thanks a lot in advance

I wouldn't use it for 'car'. I use it for public transport.
