What would be the difference in usage between: recall and remember. All I can see is that they are both transitive, so what would be the difference in usage ? I translate testimonies of witnesses and very often they will say the equivalent in French (je ne me souviens pas (no object), je ne me rappelle pas (no object) and I would like to know the subtle difference between the two.
thanks!

'Recall' is often used when the memory is a long way back.![]()
