Is it correct to say that 2,000 acres of land cost $16 millions?

if 16 million is the correct answer, does that mean the ' dollars ' is omitted ? Supposed to be ' 16 million dollars ' ?

Omit the es and say $16 million.

Yes, $16 million is the same as 16 million dollars.
