Hi, I'd like to know what the folloeing sentence in capital letters mean
LOVE WAS OUT TO GET ME
That's the way it seemed
disappointment haunted all my dreams
then I saw your face
Now I'm in love. I'm a believer
Hi Ripley
The phrase 'out to get me' is usually used with people - "I think he's out to get me".
If someone is out to get you, they want to hurt you or make problems for you. In the song, he says love was out to get him ... this means that he felt like every time he tried to have a relationship, he just got hurt or had problems.
So it seemed like love was out to get him. We all feel a bit like that sometimes, right?
