How much practice do you get in speaking?

It is so hard to be completely fluent in a second language. The only thing you can really do is immerse yourself in the culture (i.e. live in an English speaking country) and just practice, practice, practice. Short of that there is no simple way of eliminating the cognitive process of translation in your head.

Hi! I guess this topic is related to a question I asked a few days ago about the translation that goes through our heads. Just to let you people know I have isolated myself from all my Arabic friends and I watch "Murder She Wrote" all day long (for vocabulary purposes). When I think to myself I only think in English. I'll keep you updated with my progress. Regards, Skywalker76
