decide/appear to V
After graduating from college, Nick _____ to work in New York.
(A) hit (B) decided (C) appeared (D) blew
The answer is opton B. What's wrong with option C?
Re: decide/appear to V
Mainly that nobody would produce that sentence with 'appeared'. If we wanted to convey the message that would seem to convey, we'd say, "It appears/seems that, after graduating from college, Nick worked in New York".
