What`s up! Please, what is the correct way to say...I am at, in, at the, or in the church

I think this should be "at church" or "at the church"
about the article "the",there are a different of using "the church" and "church",it depends on what you want to imply.
For examples:
Mrs.Kelly goes to church every Sunday(to a religious service)
The workmen went to the church to repair the roof.(not for a religious service)
