Dear ELS teacher,
I recently saw this sentence in a news paper. Please tell me the meaning.
"Loaded for the bar. Vice President Jack Cheny accepts a rifle from NRA President ........" What does "loaded for the bar" mean?
Puzzled in Japan, YOSHIHITO
To me that means nothing, and could be an America saying. I have never heard that in the UK
Thank you for the support!
Yoshihito
