Default Is the accent important for speaking english?

I'm a student from Thailand. I wonder if the accent is really important for speaking english? And could you please tell me how I can practice and improve my accent.

The first stage is comprehension- if the listener understands you, then you are communicating. Obviously, the better your accent, the easier this will be, but most learners speak with some accent. It's very difficult to get rid of an accent, and only a very few learners, except those learning as children, do it. Try to work out where your listeners have difficulty understanding you. And it's a good thing to practise- the bathroom is always good because you have a mirror and privacy.
