Smile Thank-you Message

Hi Teacher,

Below is a note to be written on a thank-you card. Which of them is better, or is there any other way to express this message in a more sincere way?

VERSION 1
Thank you for being part of the triumphant launch of the XXX programme. Please accept the enclosed souvenir to mark this momentous occasion.

VERSION 2
Thank you for attending the launching ceremony of the XXX programme. Please accept the enclosed souvenir to mark this momentous occasion.

Thank you.

Default Re: Thank-you Message

I prefer the second- the first seems a bit excessive.
