- For Teachers
I'm looking for a word for the piece of wood that is used to hold an ice cream. Can anyone help please?
Thanks in advance
By MikeNewYork's reply I can assume that bhaisahab was joking,... I looked it up but found nothing. Isn't there a particular word for that?
Where I live they are often referred to as popsicle sticks especially after their ice cream has been eaten.
We called them Popsicle sticks too, whether they had ever had a frozen treat on them or were sold as craft items.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
But how can you tell once the stuff is gone? :)
In BrE, they're "lolly sticks". I think ice lollies are almost the same as Popsicles so the BrE answer is the same.
