Dear teachers,
Would you please tell me what the following sentence means exactly?
"Hundreds of millions of people progressing in leaps and bounds towards a materially-progressive heaven." (D. Lessing)
Best regards,
Hela

It seems to be used to describe the attitude towards material things, and I have seen it used both positively and negatively. Could you give a bit more context?
Hello tdol, that's all I have, unfortunately. It's a sentence I have to translate.
All the best
If it's a quote by a famous person, you shouldn't be translating it yourself. If you google for the right words, you should -- with a bit of patience and some luck -- find the definitive translation in the target language, and that's the one you should use. If you can't find anything online, you'll need to contact people who might know. (In case anyone else is wondering why professional translations are so damned expensive, this is one reason.)
