why word get come before some verbs?
thanks
As I understand it, the word get, has a sense of taking something to apply it in the one who gets. For example, if you say, I get bored, it means that the state of being bored is taken by you, the speaker (or the one who gets). And it goes before many words, specially verbs, phrasal verbs, etc. because these add to the meaning more specific connotation.
It describes the process, so 'get bored' is the process of becoming bored. Often, you use 'get' for the process and 'be' for the state. Also, we use 'get' instead of 'be' in the passive in colloquial language quite a lot.
