When giving explanations

When giving explanations, instructions and accounts of events, or presenting an argument, why is it important that you are able to adapt the pitch and pace of your talk to suit the situation?

Because one sentence when spoken in English can have more than one meaning. Also it depends on if you are answering a questions or not. You normally stress the words that matter in that situation and also some words contract in speech and create weak forms. This is very complex and takes time to understand and even longer to use correctly.
