Thanks! Do we need to capitalize the "F" in father when it stands on its own without the word "my"? Would it be better to add the possessive pronoun "my" when talking about one's own father?

It is traditional to capitalize father when it is used as a name. (That, of course, applies to mother too.) Example:Quote:
