Please would you correct my sentence. I am not sure if I have used the correct tense in the second part of this sentence.
1.He was lead through the street to the buses, which had been waiting for the prisoners.
or could I simply write:
2. He was lead through the street to the buses, waiting for the prisoners.

I agree with bhaisaheb of course, but number 2 could still have worked if only you had omitted the comma. Amazingly, a little comma can wreck a whole sentence. Without the comma I can easily imagine number 2 in the work of Len Deighton, as good a writer as ever there was.
