refer to the whole sentence but only to that bit "...how to speak English." - in the sense of " how to already speak
When it comes to forming a question like " Does Hans know how to speak English yet?", could you also say " Does Hans already know how to speak English?" if a positive or affirmative answer is expected by the person asking the question, as
is the case with "some" in questions like " Would you like some wine? " because a yes - answer is expected? Yes.
Is the word " already " sometimes used in spoken English although "yet" would be correct? Possibly.
