hi, my friend and I are having a discussion about the differences between the following 2 questions
a) How will object A move with respect to the eyes?
b) How far will object A move with respect to the eyes?
In my opinion, question a only asks for how the object move, that is up, down, left, right, further or nearer, while question b asks for a specific measurement of the distance moved by the object.
My friend however thinks that both questions are asking for the distance the object move.
Please help us confirm this.
thanks.
You win.
"How" is a general question -- what direction, what speed, what manner, does it roll or slide or fly...
"How far" is a specific question: "What distance".
You're right, boydog.
HOW FAR specifically asks for distance.
HOW asks for direction, speed, manner, and possibly distance.
so, basically the question that ask how will object A move, doesnt necessary mean to ask about the distance?
exactly boydog.
thanks :)
