To the best of my knowledge, the English language is used for international communication, so I guess the real question is, Why is communication among people who do not share the same language or culture important?

What are your thoughts?

I've read that it's the international language of science. So if you plan to go into a career in science, you may find that university lectures are taught in English. I'm sure that's not going to be the case in many places though.

There are so many languages in use in the world, Chinese is the native language of more people than any other language. But English is the language of globalization. Internet is playing very important role in globalization. Which one is the dominant language of internet? It's English.
