    Default have had

    Hi there,

Could someone explain the use of 'have had' with some example sentences. When do you exactly use it in sentences?

    Cheers

It would link something past to the present:
I've had a lot of trouble with my boss recently. (There might not be any trouble at the moment, but there may well be again- unfinished business)
I've had this car for two years. (ownership- unifinished again)

The idea behind the present perfect is that it links past to present- it could be unfinished, or changeable or important now.
