    Default doubt abt "has to be done "

    Dear Sir,
    Could u tell me the following doubt "has to be " when it's used
    1.This work has to be done (what does it mean )

    There is a compulsion in this sentence.

    "Has to" means roughly the same as "must", so the sentence can be written:

    "The work must be done."

    This is an example of the passive voice in English. The passive voice means that the agent -- the person or thing doing the action described by the verb -- is either not important, or even unknown. If we transform the sentence above to the active voice, we get:

    "[Somebody] must do the work."
