What is an idiom for 'Rome was not built in a day"?
Rome wasn not built in a day is an idiom. Do you mean what is it's meaning? or another idiom that means the same or similar?
It means you cannot expect to achieve something quickly, without hard work.
Another idiom which is similar is 'no pain, no gain' or maybe 'little strokes fell large oaks' but then again maybe not so close.
This is going to be really mean of me, but this is a message board for people trying to learn and teach English, so I have to say something here.Originally Posted by curmudgeon
