Which is preferable to use: "do with" or "do about" in the following statement? "What you learn is not as important as what you do _________ it." And why?
Sometimes it can be said as 'Its what you do with it that counts' referring perhaps to knowledge, skill or even money you have acquired.
What you do about it would i think refer to something you have found out eg some misdemeanour by another. In this case it may be do you ignore it, report it or challenge it
Tony Sporano would choose 'do about it' because he's in the business of punishing transgressions.
Socrates would probably say 'do with it' because as a philosopher, how you apply knowledge is what determines your actions.
