Dear all
Hello
Which of these are better to use?
1-please sit at the nearest seat you see.
2-please sit at the very close seat you see.
Thanks a million
Matilda
I think the first one.![]()
dear Hector
my university teacher always uses the second one, and although it sounds nonsense, but he always repeats that.
so, you mean the second one is useless and ungrammatical?
Matilda
hi matilda!
I chose the first sentence just because it sounds right to me(that means I use it more often, not mean the 2nd doesn't make any sense!) The 2nd sentence does make sense to me.maybe "very" here doesn't has the meaning of "so",maybe it means "the particular seat you see".(correct me if i'm wrong)

I'd say 'please take the first seat you see'.![]()
